Geographic & Community Context
Mzimba South Luwerezi is situated in the southern quadrant of Mzimba District within the Northern Region of Malawi. The constituency is defined by its vibrant rural communities, rich agricultural landscapes, and the vital Luwerezi river system which anchors the livelihood and transport corridors of our people.
The community relies predominantly on smallholder agriculture—growing maize, tobacco, legumes, and raising livestock—supplemented by vibrant local trading centers. Reliable road linkages, clean borehole water distribution, educational facilities, and accessible rural healthcare centers form the backbone of local development demands.
Constituency Motto
“Muumoza Kutukula Chigawa Chithu”
Meaning “Together Developing Our Constituency”, our motto embodies an inclusive principle: sustainable progress occurs only when residents, community leaders, and elected representatives plan and evaluate public investments collaboratively.
Vision & Development Mission
Our strategic vision is to build an equitable, resilient constituency where public resources are managed with verifiable honesty, essential public services reach every village, and youth talent is nurtured through sports and vocational empowerment.
1. Essential Infrastructure
Expanding solar-powered and hand-pump boreholes, constructing sturdy school classroom blocks, improving clinic maternity wings, and reinforcing vital river crossings and feeder roads.
2. Radical Transparency
Public disclosure of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocations, contractor timelines, and verified physical status. Official assertions must be matched by independent field inspections.
3. Youth & Sports Development
Running an organized, professionally tracked constituency football and netball league across all zones to provide productive engagement, physical health, and talent development.
4. Citizen Direct Access
Empowering every resident to submit verifiable reports on broken amenities, track action on their concerns, and access a strictly confidential pathway for vulnerable safeguarding issues.
